Not knowing the setup of your physical network, you certainly have to make sure the same VLAN is available in both datacenters and traffic is not blocked. If - as you mentioned - the setup is similar in both datacenters I'm pretty sure everything you need is in place and the VLAN is not blocked between the datacenters..
