Found my problem and posting here in case anyone else runs into the same issue. Regardless of what the server name or IP address you install vCO on, you need to have a DNS entry for the "Common Name" that you have entered in vCO's settings. If that doesn't match your server name, you need to setup an alias/CNAME record in DNS for the Common Name. Once I did that, I was able to log right in to the client with my common name/alias.
