Hello;
Nowadays I'm planning to set up a VMware home test platform. So I have to choose SATA iSCSI storage. There are several manufacturers Synology, Iomega, Qnap and many models which can be used. In Turkey taxes are very high for electronic devices; these kinds of devices are more expensive than US. So I mustn't spend my money waste...
Well, my question; what are the most important parameters for iSCSI SATA storage devices using same hdd?
Let me clarify more...
In Turkey (maybe also in other countries), Qnap and Synology are being sold diskless. One of their products can be preferred but their products have different amount of memories and different CPUs. Qnap and Synology storage devices are coming with many built-in applications and most of them won't be used by me during vmware test platform. I would like to know that faster CPU and higher memory affects the data transfer rate of storage or not? Faster CPU and higher memory is better for their built-in applications or also better for data write/read rates?
