No Parent VM in Select Parent VM window

Hello,

I am using VMware ESXi 5.0.0 504890. The datastore is locally attached. I have installed the vCenter / vComposer in a Win 2008 R2 VM and the vConnection in another Win 2008 R2.

Now I am trying to get up a pool of Win XP linked clone machines.

I have installed the VMware Tools inside the Windows XP VM. I have shutdown the Windows XP VM and I have made a snapshot.

Now I ran the wizard for creating the pool. At the step where I should point to the parent VM  I have no parent VM listed there.

For troubleshooting the problem:

1) rebooted the vCenter / vComposer VM and the vConnection VM

2) reinstalled the VMware Tools inside Windows XP VM, the shutdown it and take another snapshot

No results. There no available VM in Select Parent VM window.

Please help to figure out the problem.
