Multiple VM's in Multiple Monitors

I have upgraded to VM Workstation 8.  It used to be that if I wanted VM1 in monitor 1 and VM2 in monitor 2 then I had to launch VM Workstation twice with on VM in one monitor and another VM in another monitor.  It was clunky but it worked.

I now get a message saying the VM appears to be in use - and a button for me to "Take Ownership"

If I click on Take Ownership I get an error that it failed

Has something changed in VM Workstation 8?  What do I need to do to have two VM's running in two monitors?
