I recently have had an issue with several Windows 2003 virtual machines running on ESXi 4.1.0 Build 258902 host servers. When I rebooted the virtual servers, the network adapters had changed back to the default settings (name, IP settings, etc). I ran "set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" and then "start devmgmt.msc" to start Device Manager. I selected "Show hidden devices" and I discovered a nonpresent network adapter. So, it looks like during the reboot the servers "discovered" new network adapters. Has anyone else seen this happen?
