As for the performance, depending on the actual disk load, the RAID stripe size and other capabilities it might not give much performance increase.

the other windows 7 is installed as a virtual machine also but its using the openfiler iscsi raid parition.
this is a raid 0 setup in openfiler.
in theory i was thinking i gave openfiler 4 different hard drives. each on a different physical drive -- raid 0 should work.
but its not giving much performance difference.
