We've been seeing a weekly IOP storm starting at approximately 9:25AM every Thursday, lasting 30 minutes or so and can't identify what's causing it. I'e checked all the usual suspects, virus scanner, Windows update, defrag, etc but turned up empty. The only think left could be the Adobe Updater.
Our View environment is on an air-gapped network without Internet connectivity. Has anyone else experienced something like this? The VM's are Win7x64. I know this is not a View problem, but was hoping others may have experienced something like this and resolved the issue.
More background:
Storage is NetApp FAS3240 with SSD PAM Modules
Ethernet is 10Gb
The View cluster is 4 hosts
Hosts connect to the storage with 1Gb interface per host for NFS traffic, 1Gb interface per host for vMotion and 2Gb per host for VM traffic.
We're not seeing large data movement, just extremely high IOP's. Averaging 7-8 thousand every second, all NFS which is how our datastores are mounted.
I don't know how long this has been happening but we have been adding VM's to the pool at around 10 additional VM's a week over the last few weeks. We have 81 View VM's running.
