VMware Tools in CentOS

Hi

I used this guide to installing vmware tools, but after a seeminly successful installation in the terminal, when I visited the VM menu, I saw a 'Cancel VMware Tools Installation' option, and this is even after re-starting the vm.

Eventually I clicked on the 'Cancel VMware Tools Installation' option and was met with a warning that this could cause vmware tools to not install properly.  I went ahead anyway, and now it SEEMs to have worked, but is there anyway to test that it has?

Might be a stupid question, but I'd love to know, since now in the VM menu there is the option 'Reinstall VMware tools...' - is this indicative that something has gone wrong?

I'm a 1st time user, so please be gentle.

Bests
