vSphere 4.1 - Bind iSCSI Ports to iSCSI Adapters

Hello,

i'm trying to "tune" my iSCSI Konfiguration on our three equal hosts.

I've assigned two physical NICs to two iSCSI VMKernel Ports in one virtual switch for failover reasons. One physical adapter is "active" and the other "passiv" for the switch. For the one VMKernel Port i've configured it vice versa so that both iSCSI Ports have a unique connection with a physical NIC.

All the configuration has been set in vSphere Client.

But not I've read the "iSCSI SAN Configuration Guide" and found the step "Bind iSCSI Ports to iSCSI Adapters" on page 40. There you can read that one have to use "esxcli" for binding iSCSI adapter to iSCSI Port. But this is the step i just don't understand. In my opinion i've set up everything already in vSphere client while creating iSCSI Port and binding them via "vSwitch" and "VMKernel Port" Properties to the physical NICs. My connection to my iSCSI Datastore also run after iSCSI Rescan. So ... do i really have to use this "esxcli" command in this case?
