I would agree, I don't CBT is going to do anything for you. What it is does when enabled is track changed block between snapshot or change IDs. What backups solutions usually will do is when they create a snapshot it returns then a changeID, then they will store that. Then on the next backup do the same thing and get the new ChangeID. Then using the vStorage APIs will get the changed blocks between the two snapshots(ChangeIDs). It makes backups much more efficient as you can easily get the changed blocks between backups (snapshots).
