I can't uninstall Workstation 8.0.1 from Windows 7 Professional x64.
I am on a 30-day trial of WMware Workstation 8.0.1 (with serial number.) I was unable to create a virtual machine after multiple attempts...always getting 0xc05 errors (access violation). I am familiar with KB Article 1008485 ("VMware product unexpectedly fails with an unrecoverable error"). None of the circumstances discussed in the article apply.
It occurred to me that I may have unwittingly corrupted my copy of Workstation, so I decided to uninstall it and then re-install it. However, uninstallation fails: The installer starts with the message "Checking for currently running VMware Products" and does not proceed beyond that point.
I am left with a non-functional product that I cannot uninstall. Help appreciated.
