Re: vSphere Client 5 - "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" when clicking console

I had the same issue.  To fix it I:

1. Installed .Net Framework 4

2. Ran Windows Update and installed all the .Net Framework patches

3. Uninstalled and Reinstalled vSphere client.

After all that it started working for me.  Hope this helps.
