Trouble Calculating RAM for HA

Calculating HA for a vCenter, vSphere 4 Enterprise 20 CPU licence

Two Blades HP

  • BL 460c G1 x 16 GB RAM
  • Intel E5420
  • Processor Sockets 2
  • Core per Socket     4
  • Logical processors 8
  • Hyper threading not available.

I would like to implement HA

I have the following requirements  - 8 Servers

  • 2 vCPU / 6 GB RAM – running
  • 2vCPU / 4 GB RAM – running
  • 8vCPU / 10 GB RAM – running
  • 4 vCPU / 4 GB RAM – still to be provisioned
  • 2 vCPU / 2 GB RAM– still to be provisioned
  • 2 vCPU / 2GB RAM – running
  • 4 vCPU / 4 GB RAM– still to be provisioned
  • 2vCPU / 4 GB RAM – running

Total of 36 GB RAM required, currenlty have 16 GB per server.

I currently have 16 GB and when I check my slot allocation it says 5 used and 5 available with a total of 20 ? How do I calculate the minimum amount of RAM required for HA? and the fact that I have a system with 8vCPU when this system moves over to the one host will I need to drop the vCPU to better accomodate the schedular ?

Thanks for your help,
