You cannot simply restore the entire C:\ drive to another server.. Operating Systems will have major issues.
Use VMConverter as the other poster mentioned to go from Physical to Virtual. This would allow you to keep the system intact and remove the issues you are experiencing with the hardware.
If you wanted to go from Physical to Physical, use a product like Acronis which has a Universal Restore Function which allows an image to be restored on disimilar hardware.
