Remember that VCP require a mandatory course.
In the course you can learn also some basis of networking and storage useful for the exam.
Which make first? It depends by your knowledge... VCP is only one exam but with a 5 days course.
MCITP is just a set of exams but with different arguments.
Both require some practice before.
